Lessons From the Wilderness Pt.4
They moved on from Succoth and then camped at Etham at the edge of the wilderness. God went ahead of them in a Pillar of Cloud during the day to guide them on the way, and at night in a Pillar of Fire to give them light; thus they could travel both day and night. . .
Lessons From the Wilderness Pt.3
Moses walked into the Tent of Testimony the next day and saw that Aaron's staff, the staff of the tribe of Levi, had in fact sprouted—buds, blossoms, and even ripe almonds! Moses brought out all the staffs from God's presence and presented them to the People of Israel.
Lessons From the Wilderness Pt.2
God went ahead of them in a Pillar of Cloud during the day to guide them on the way, and at night in a Pillar of Fire to give them light; thus they could travel both day and night. The Pillar of Cloud by day and the Pillar of Fire by night never left the people.

A Community of Christ Followers
theGa†hering Church is a community of Christ followers desiring to "be" the church. Our goal is to rediscover what it means to live each day in a way that impacts the community and honors God in a time and place when most think the church to be irrelevant, narrow minded and judgmental.
What if words like honest, genuine, authentic, freedom, and love were words that came to mind when you thought of the church? We believe this is how God desires His church to be known, and we believe this is what you will find at theGa†hering.

First, let me admit that I do not enjoy conflict - however, it seems it is part of life. Secondly,I confess that I am a "peacemaker". Eventually, after sorting through any situation I want to see it all work out correctly. Now, I really do think conflict is good because it can enrich any relationship and any situation. That is if each party wants to sit down, emotion aside, and navigate through the awkwardness, and the "stickiness" of it all and collaborate toward a good solution for each person. However, what I have found is that many people will not and do not function this way. I could surmise of why people do not want to come to the table and work it out but lets say many people have been in conflict way before you showed up and they swept it under the rug. By you showing up with your baggage and your conflict resolution skills, it bothers those that do not truly know how to get over the past let alone the current "messiness" between you and them - thus, creating conflict.
WHY DOES CONFLICT HAPPEN? Conflict occurs because expectations are not met or kept. Expectations occur because of assumptions. Of course you know what assume means? This old statement is true, it makes an "ass" out of "u" and "me". When we do not communicate properly assumptions are made, expectations are not met, and conflict occurs - this is a downward spiral. We communicate horribly as people - using passive aggressive tones, we vacillate on a daily basis because we are driven by our emotions, and we are stubborn and we do not want to display weakness because we are full of pride and so on.
